Trickett Welding was founded by Graham Trickett.
Graham started welding as an apprentice in the local shipyard as a fabricator welder and went on to work in oil refineries, power stations and the engineering industry.
In 1977 he started the Trickett Welding business, welding anything and everything at home whilst still in full time employment, working late into the night to get the business off the ground.
It was in 1978 that he decided to specialise in the repairs of motor vehicles. A friend of his owned a garage and needed a welder to repair the rusted vehicles to get them through the MOT’s.
In 1979 at the age of 16, Nigel Trickett joined the business which has gone from strength to strength.
In February 2000 we became a Limited Company, working for many of the main motor dealers in the area.
At the start of 2011 our new workshop extension was open for use. This has now given us far more space to carry out the restoration side of our business.
In 2013 we invested in a low bake spray booth oven.
July 2015, Extensive ground works and tarmac resurfacing to our yard.
August 2018, Purchase of a new Portakabin for customer reception and waiting room.
November 2020, Purpose built building to dry store seven vehicles.
MOT vehicle welding is our main trade but restoration is now becoming a larger part of our business.
